Genre, ideas, research and Planning for trailer

For this Genre project i am making a short trailer called Detention. It took while for me to decide on what I wanted to focus my trailer on so i decided to look at some trailers of movies that I already knew and then I would create an idea from one of them. Originally i was going to focus my trailer on a movie about gangsters and crime as I was inspired by a film called Shottas but after a long and hard think I decided that that my idea was to cliche so I changed it. After watching several trailers I came across an old film that I really liked named Hot Chicks and watching the trailer gave me an idea to do a comedy about two girls that switch bodies. After I watched the hot chicks trailer i watched another trailer named Freaky Friday that is somewhat similar to the Hot Chicks trailer. Watching both these trailers inspired when i was making up my own trailer and eventually I completed my idea.

My Idea (Short Idea)

I will be doing this trailer with one of my class mates (Preaya)

- Two "Ratchet" girls named La'Trice and Bon'Trice from America

- The two girls are enimies

- They go into detention together and their bodies switch

-They try to stop the curse before the end of the day

Research

Watching the above interviews inspired me to ensure that my trailer has a good enough cliff hanger to draw my audience in and want to watch the full film, it has also inspired me to ensure that i don't make my trailer to long as i don't want to bore my audience and most importantly i don't want to give away to much of the film. Finally I already thought that music was important to use when making a trailer and watching the above interviews made me more confident about using music as in some cases it brings out the genre of the movie.
