Demond Dogs Video and Evaluation
Below is my completed music video for demond dogs
Evaluation for demond dogs music video

This is one of the first scenes of my music video. I thought the use of a close up shot was a good shot to use first because it is up close and it makes it easy for the audience to see the emotions used on the actors faces. I used the green screen (the green screen is used so that the editor has the option to change the background) to add a theme that is revolved around love. I chose to use this look because it allows my audience to instantly assume that the song is going to have something to do with love. Once the audience have combined the expressions used on the actors faces with the background, it becomes easy for them to assume that the video has something to do with relationships. I was happy with the way my video started however there wasn't a plush finish to the use of the green screen, this was due to the shadows that were originally visible when the actors were being recorded.

This is the second scene in my music video. Honestly I wasn't particularly happy with this scene as the transition between the first scene and this one didn't go well together. I wouldn't have use this scene if i had a choice however I felt that this shot was the only one that went well with the first verse, so i felt that i was somewhat forced into using it.. another thing i wasn't very happy with in the scene was the way it was recorded and the quality of the recording, it looked very messy and there wasn't much of a variety of different shots recorded so i decided to use the long shot as this shot allows the viewer to be able to see exactly what is going on. Lastly The dancing showed in this shot was not in sync and some of the times the dancers were not looking directly at the camera which was another reason why this made the shot look messy.

This the the third scene and chorus. This is one of four of my favourite scene's in the whole music video. The use of the green screen was used very well i didn't have any problems/issues with shadows interfering the green screen and the background fitted perfectly with the floor in the tv studio. I chose this background because the flow of the song (especially the chorus) sounds very "high schoolish." I chose this background in particular because i was trying to achieve a High School Musical look and i think i pulled the look of quite well. The only critic i have for this scene was that no everyone was able to bee seen properly because some of the dancers kept coming out of the recording space, I think this happened because there was no boundaries on the floor made with pen or tape and due to this some dancers faces kept being cut out like the young lady at the back on the left. Once again i used a long shot for the scene as there was a lot going on and this was the only way it was recorded.

I put two clips together to make one scene i relay liked the first clip as the dancers were in sync and they showed a lot of emotion while dancing they really looked like a real couple, and the green screen was used to perfection. However the second pair of dancers didn't show as much emotion and as a result there dance looked a bit half hearted, and again the use of green screen was affected by shadows so as a result the background finish was a bit rough. However i Really loved the use of the "raining hearts" as the background I feel that it was a simple but intimate and cute as i had to bare in mind the song is removed around round love and heart break. Again I used long shot because this was the only shot that was provided.

The two clip above were also put together to make one scene. I chose to use these two clips because of the juxtaposition they have in the verse. The verse was about heartbreak and breaking up. The bottom clip shows the couple "fight dancing" this clip shows what the couple want to do to each other, The man is trying to get away however the girl won't let him so she is fighting him to stay. However the top clip shows what the couple is doing in reality which is simply just having an argument. Once again i have chosen to use the long shot clips. I like this scene however the transition between the two locations are very different, this may make it hard fir the viewers to fully understand what i was trying to portray.

This is the 6th scene in my video i chose to use this clip because it has the same black background as the previous scene. This scene was okay in my opinion although the lighting wasn't great it went well. Again I had the same issue with the dancers being in sync which caused the clip to look untidy but i couldn't do anything about this because it was out of my control. I chose to use the far shot clip because the other clips kept cutting people out and the far shot one was the only clip that kept everyone in the video.

The two clips above were merged together to make a complete scene for the bridge This scene would have been better if the shots were the same and if they dancers were in there correct places and if they were in sync. I t was also a pity that they didn't record this scene behind the green screen because the black background wasn't very adventurous for this part of the video.

The three clips above were put together to make the full length scene for the guitar instrumental. This is three of four of my favourite clips, this is because the way the clip was recorded gave off a very "fresh" and youthful feeling. I used three different shots for this scene a close up to the face, (so that the viewers can see the persons face who was playing) a close up to the guitar (so that the viewers can see what the way his fingers are moving while playing the guitar) and finally a low angle shot as, i didn't use the low angle shot for any particular reason i just thought that it looked nice and it complemented the other two shots.

This is the last scene in my video and my favourite on. i choose to use the long shot clip because there dance moves were very big and i couldn't afford for any of it to be missed, The dancers danced very well and were very intimate and their acting skills were of a very high standard. I chose to use a whit background because i wanted to give off a the impression that their was no longer any feelings between the couple no bad feelings and no good feelings just numbness and i felt that if i used a white background it shows perfectly what i am trying to portray.
Overall Evaluation
Overall i wasn't very pleased with my music video, I think it looks quite cheap and very "student like" its doesn't have a plush finish to it like other music videos do, it doesn't look very professional. Another reason I don't really like my video (and this is the main reason) is because I don't feel that the majority of dancers put enough effort into there dancing and actors, there were only a few dancers and actors that made an effort. Another reason why i wasn't entirely satisfied was because i used the same shot type (long shot) over and over again which made my final edit quite basic and "safe."
